MIAMI, FL – September 1, 2017 – ECC’s Robert Charbonneau and Jacqueline Calderín were recently featured in a Law360 story that delves into a complex multi-jurisdictional, international bankruptcy case with connections to Florida, New York, Russia and the British Virgin Islands.
Charbonneau is duking it out in the Southern District of New York on behalf of Calderín, who was appointed as trustee for Aman Resorts Group Ltd. by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Miami, after an involuntary petition for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy was filed.
“We are fighting a Motion to Transfer the Florida case to New York,” said Charbonneau. “We believe that the Florida court has proper jurisdiction, and that the parties seeking the transfer may have engaged in questionable pre-petition transactions. There is a lot to investigate here.”
